DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, P.S. Bartlett, Model 1857, 11J, 18S, approximately 12K rose gold (tested, with very slow fade on stone of 14K solution, no fade on stone of 10K solution) HC with misleading crowned "18" hallmark, very attractive engine turning and engraving detail, small engraved disk applied to rear center, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#443673. Gross weight of assembled watch 70.0 dwt (109.0 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, some yellowing and clouding of gilt tone, fingerprint type etching to barrel bridge, steelwork with some small bits of oxide, replacement screw securing hairspring stud; dial with hls between 12 and center, hls above seconds-register, short perimeter scratches at 11, some perimeter rub between 9 and 11; fine hands, hour with some bends, hour and minute of mismatched style as minute has a polished spade and hour does not; case shows very little wear, cuvette with some fine scratches, some nicks and dings to rear, few mild nicks and dings to front, good engine turning and engraving detail, inner bezel not closing flush to band between 9 and 12 and inner bezel hinge has a small metal split and hinge pin is short not extending much (if at all) into the left knuckle; tight bow, push is a somewhat smaller sized replacement with some play within pendant and push shows little wear; good glass crystal.
